Dear All,
We realise that this is a very uncertain and highly stressful time with the fight back against COVID-19. Clients are working out how to continue their international business activities in this new coronavirus setting which will require remote working and unprecedented disruption to business operations for a sustained period. We know that our clients are making amazing progress in getting their new working practices up and running, at incredible speed. It has been an inspiring effort. We are proud of all of you.
We will do our very best to continue to provide notarial and legalisation services. This will require novel and unconventional notarial attendances and some ingenuity for how we manage your notary and legalisation requirements.
We are ready and here to support you.
Communication is going to be essential – Zoom, WhatsApp, FaceTime and Skype for Business, as well as our office number and email. We will ensure we can execute the notarial requirements and help you navigate and manage any expectations of the recipient country for your documents. So the earlier we know, the better. Our job is to ensure this part of your day to day tasks is not a stressor.
We will manage all forwarding of notarial documents to minimise social contact. Signatories are likely to be separated from their efficient and amazing PA’s; so we are here to help navigate any logistical issues arising and take up the strain.
Embassies are in flux and that will create some legalisation challenges; some are closing (but have a postal service), others are closing (and yet to have a postal or online payment service in place). We are in touch with the main Embassies we use to understand how they will manage. Ask us if you need need specific information on a particular Country and check out our Coronavirus Legalisation Update page.
FCO Milton Keynes will be under additional workload with the London Premium Service closing in Westminster to protect their committed team. We wish them well. FCO Apostille and Certification delays and disruption to be expected.
For companies and organisations, consider putting in place a Corporate Power of Attorney to give you broader options in terms of signatories beyond your board directors. We have a suggested form of Corporate Power of Attorney – see Download resources opposite.
Finally, if you have an existing notary relationship, but there are intervening logistical issues, or if the notary is in an ‘at-risk’ group, in self-isolation or household quarantine, we can ‘babysit’ the notarial and legalisation requirements. It is important that your notary does not worry about how to look after your notarial needs are met in that period. They need to put their health first and heed all the advice given.
Call for free guidance or advice. Phone will be manned 8am – 9pm 7 days a week.
